Defining brushes
To edit the tip shape of the brush:
Use the edit boxes or drag the labels to adjust the following parameters:
- Size: the width of the tip, in pixels.
- Roundness: the aspect ratio (height/width) of the tip, in %.
- Sharpness: elliptical/rectangular characteristics (0..100).
- Density: the relative number of fibers, in %.
- Flow: the opacity of drawn strokes (0..1000).
- Angle: tip rotation, in degrees.
To edit the paint:
Click the check box to activate/deactivate usage of paint.
- Push: if checked, the color is picked at the beginning of
drawing a stroke, and the specified paint colors are not used.
- Edit paint: see Editing the paint.
- Absorbtion: the amount of paint the brush absorbs from the
canvas.
To specify brush dynamics:
- Sticky: there is no motion, only one stamp is drawn.
- Dynamic stamp: the brush tip is re-rendered before drawing
each stamp.
- Airbrush capabilities: there is a constant stream of paint
when holding down the mouse button.
- Fade out: you can give a finite amount of paint which lasts for
x pixels.
- Saturation jitter: the saturation of paint colors is varied
while drawing.
To use additional effects:
- Choose a blend mode from the combo box. The Screen, Color Dodge and
Linear Dodge modes lighten the image; the Multiply, Color Burn and
Linear Burn blend modes darken the image with the paint colors.
You can load and save your brush presets using the buttons at the top of
the Brush settings dialog box.
