SRT TO SSA CONVERTER ver 1.0
This
program is only a converter between two subtitles format files : SRT and SSA.
SRT is the
format that the program SubRip uses to extract the subtitles. This program
extracts subtitles from VOB files from a DVD, and saves it in SRT format. But
this format is not the same some programs uses to show the subtitles.
Those
programs uses SSA format. An example of a program to include subtitles in a
video file is the Subtitler Plug-In from Avery Lee for Virtual Dub .
Using the
SRT to SSA Converter, you can convert SubRip’s files to SSA format files,
choosing some format characteristics. Those format characteristics will appear
then in the program who shows the subtitles.
In the
“Input file” box, you must type the name of the SRT subtitles file. It is also
possible to select the file clicking
the “Browse” button.
In the
“Output file” box, you must type the name of the SSA file output. If you type
anything, the program will take the name from the input file, and put in it the
extension SSA. It is also possible to select an output file clicking the
“Browse” button.
In the
“Font format” box, you must choose the subtitle’s font, size, and format.

“Outlines and shading” box, we have the next options:
In the
subtitles position options, you can select the subtitles situation, justified
at right, at left or centred, and also specify it vertical situation down, up
or at the centre of the image.
The
distance from the text to the borders, in pixels, appears close, at right, and
can be also modified.
It’s also
possible specify tree colours:
Finally,
the “Lines cutting” option, allow to specify if you whish the lines cutting
remains like the original subtitles font, or if you prefer that the program
makes his own “intelligent cutting”, noticing the image size, the font size,
the distance to the borders, and the shape of the dialogs, to adjust the text
to the available room.
Profiles
allow you to save your favourite options.
In the
“Profiles” folder box, it is possible to choose the profile’s name to use.
The “Load
Profile” button loads the values for all the previously described options, if
they was previously saved under a specific profile’s name.
The “Save
Profile” button saves the values from the options at that moment with the name selected
at the upper folder box.
The “Delete
Profile” button deletes the profile selected at the upper folder box.
The “Save
as” button saves the values from the options at that moment as a new profile,
with a new name.
